About The Author

I have been a type 1 diabetic since October 30, 1978. I had a bad case of the flu, and by the time it was over, on my 13th birthday, I was drinking 1/4 gallon of water and peeing it out at about the same time. I went into the hospital with a blood sugar of 800+ and ended up staying for a week.

It’s now 30 years later, and I still have both legs and eyes, with just a little bit of neuropathy now showing up in both of the aforementioned body parts. I’ve also had gastroparesys for at least 20 years now, but it’s doesn’t cause me much problem if I remember to eat mostly low carb so that my blood sugars don’t catch me by suprise 8 hours after a meal.

If you have any type 1 diabetes related questions, feel free to ask them and I will get you the answer if I know it.
